All 100th Anniversary events have now concluded. Check out our 100th Recap and photo albums below.
APRIL 9-14, 2018: Centennial Week of Service
From April 9-14, Catholic Charities celebrated the volunteers who make our work possible with a Centennial Week of Service. Each day, volunteers participated in service activities at a variety of our locations throughout Cook and Lake counties.
Some ways volunteer groups participated included hosting a carnival at our Peace Corner Youth Center, completing spring cleaning and painting projects at our offices and service centers, hosting a baby shower for new moms in our teen parenting programs, and serving meals to seniors, veterans, and others in need.
“The ability to interact with Catholic Charities clients this week was as helpful to each of us as it was to them.” - Michele Medzigian, Board Member and Lead Volunteer
“The volunteers this week were indeed ‘partners in the mission.’ We had a big job in painting Catholic Charities clothing room for clients. The volunteers kept at it until the job was finished.” - Mark Noetzel, Board Member and Volunteer Service Committee Chair
